Today’s free magic item is inspired by the hike my wife and I went on yesterday (sorry this is a day late!). We knew rain was coming……luckily we finished our hike moments before it arrived!
Invisible Umbrella
Wondrous Item, Uncommon
Invisible umbrellas are made from ash sticks and branches. They are generally 2-3 feet in length, and highly polished. The wealthy and travelers often carry them in a backpack or quiver. A creature may activate or deactivate the umbrella with a command word. When active, a force field in the shape of an umbrella 10 ft. in diameter forms over the stick. Like a normal umbrella, precipitation can be blown under it. Unlike a normal umbrella, this one does not block light, and cannot be blown away by the wind. Activation lasts up to 24 hours. A creature may deactivate the umbrella with the command word. The umbrella must spend 24 concurrent hours not active every week, or its magic dissipates.
The command word for an individual umbrella can be discovered (if not known) by holding it for one hour and concentrating on knowing the word. A creature attempting to know the word this way cannot perform any other activity or take any damage.
