Nanowrimo Day 3

I slept in a bit for reasons. Then I got distracted by the internet and politics and sports and #nanowrimo updates from my fellow PDX writers. I had planned to write in the coffee shop around the corner (I wish Stacks was open for indoor seating), but Wednesday is the day my wife needs the laptop for work. So I distracted myself until she was done.

Then I went to the coffee shop around the corner. Coincidentally, someone I had talked to before the pandemic (BP?), who was also writing fiction, was there. We talked briefly, but he had to go. He was editing (or suggesting edits) his nephew’s college essay.

After he left, I buckled down and wrote 1500 words, give or take. A few of those need deleting for sure…..but I left it at an action spot. I think we are going to Top Golf soon to hit balls. After that? I’ll likely pick up the writing again. Hopefully I’ll get another thousand or so words in later today.

I do think getting right out of bed and writing works….I just need to then use some afternoon time for working out….because, ya, I’m 57 and need to stay fit…..

Good luck to all the creators out there (and everyone else too)!
