In which I rant about the rich and powerful and what they really care about, and how they don’t want us to vote either.
Today the president of the US is bragging that he’s worked out a deal with the Saudis and Russians to raise oil prices. Why? Because the profits of oil companies are more important than US citizens, that’s why.
Here we are, unable to pay our bills (more than 6 million people filed for unemployment last week!), and the president is doing what he can to raise prices for us all…..For a normal president, this would be a scandal. For Trump? Meh. Business as usual for a man that brags that he takes no responsibility (well, he doesn’t when things are bad, he sure tries to when things are good).
As if we needed another reminder that he, and his cronies and enablers, cared about people at all. They care about money. Nothing more (ok, power and fame). But really, money.
If you don’t want this to continue, I hope you vote this fall.
Oh, that reminds me!
Twice this week GOP leaders have admitted they don’t want you to be able to vote by mail (really, at all), because that would be bad for the GOP. They are literally admitting they don’t like democracy (which they claim to fight for), and freedom, and all the other things this country is supposed to be about.
