Here is a battle map I plan to use with Rime of the Frost Maiden. It is of a ruined snowy area, featuring a huge statue, ruined buildings, and a sun dial in the middle of a circle of trees. I’m not 100% sure what is going to be here, but let’s look at some of what we can see……
A road comes in from the North, and intersects with a path. On either side of the path are ruined buildings, missing some walls. Snow has filled quite a bit of the building on the left of the road. A third ruined building sits more in the middle of what must have been a small settlement. I’m going to assume the statue and the sundial (lower right corner) are dedicated to one of the gods of Faerun. The larger building to the south (with part of its thatched roof still intact) was where the monk(s) lived. You can see their garden to the left of the house, inside the wood fence.
A dead tree is in the lower left corner, what killed it? Also dead? The skeleton under the rocks in the lower right corner of the ruined wall of the building near the sun dial. There is also a spider web among the trees between the two ruined buildings at the bottom of the map. I’m thinking some kind of snow spider lives here. Heck, let’s make a custom snow spider (follow the link to the creature stats on DND Beyond).
